I love this hood. I couldn't find a black one in local stores, so I was happy to find this one. When it first arrived it was dented, but the manufacturer replaced it. Our contractor vented it outside the house. He had to put some trim at the top to cover the holes, but it looks great! I like the size of the lamp. It has a smaller footprint and doesn’t take up a lot of room on the end table. I especially like the on/off touch switch at the base of the lamp. The USB port at the base of the lamp is a convenient feature as well. What I don’t like about it, and the reason I gave it a 4, is the lampshade. The shade seems to mute the light coming from the bulb. The light has a yellowish dull glow not very conducive for reading. Bought this hood since I needed to replace my old one and I must say this thing is absolutely amazing!! Easy installation and it came in perfect condition with no damages at all, it has a motion detector for your hands so you don’t have to press any buttons which was very very cool, also it sucks up the smoke so fast and well. Definitely recommended if you need a hood for your kitchen. It has such a clean finish to it and it should go well with any kitchen. We got a range hood for our outside grill it took time to install because my husband built a wood box to attach it to our roof.it works great because now when we use the grill all the smoke doesn’t stay in the area and we are able to eat sitting around the grill.
