The one I ordered had black in the coloring through the back end with a stripe up the back. There is also black around the beak, and the feet are black. Love this metal heron statue! It comes in two pieces and you simply pop the top on the bottom. The metal is a pretty color and the whole thing looks nicer in person than it does online. It comes with a metal stake to secure it to the ground. If you want to use it on a porch or somewhere else outside where it will be freestanding, be aware that this statue is somewhat lightweight and could be knocked over by wind. UPDATE: The metal stake does nothing to secure the statue on a windy day. It just acts as a pivot point and the whole thing flops over. We had to rig additional stakes to keep this from happening..
