Great chair cushion. They are one piece with a tie on either side between the back and seat portion. So far, the elastic strap in the back does appear to hold the back in place (as opposed to more ties). Neither firm nor plush. They were left out when a light raining came through and the rain formed droplets on the cushions and did not soak into the material. I love them. They match the table and carpet I bought. Unfortunately, there were NO INSTRUCTIONS in the box. I'm good but not that good.
