Had we gone with the 13" we wouldn't have to touch up paint around it, but I also like that they aren't that noticeable and something bigger might have been too obtrusive as this is just a small rectangle between multiple rooms. Because they are going on a second floor ceiling, which is vaulted and might be 24 feet high. We have to have our electricians come out to install these. This light is easy to install and gives off great light. The light base is larger than a standard ceiling outlet box to cover any imperfections in the sheetrock. You can put it over the fireplace to illuminate an artwork or shine light on a statue in the corner of the room. You can also use it to light up a small pantry, a kitchen island, or a laundry room. Some people even use it as a carriage light on the porch or put it on a covered patio. It looks so great at night with a nice, crisp light that is so clean and bright.
