LOVE THIS PERGOLA - We needed something that kept the sun off our outdoor kitchen in central Florida. We lifted it by about 18 inches so it would be above our door by using flower boxes and filled with concrete. It actually makes the pergola more comfortable by raising it. The gutters work well in the heavy down pours known in Florida. The higher wind tolerance was a huge selling point for us. We couldnt be happier. The system must be attached to one existing wall. Can be used to create a semi-private environment for office or residential applications, sold as a single unit. This unit can be used as a single partition to help enclose a wall corner area, but when 2 are purchased you can create a semi-private space on a straight wall. I was impressed with the quality of the materials and the instructions were pretty clear. I put mine on top of of a concrete pad. Also did a row of cinder blocks, which required a little customizing where the door fit in the wall.
