we had someone build it for us so i can’t comment on how hard it was to build, but it took him about 3 hours it is two separate pieces that do not connect so keep that in mind, we knew that before purchasing and it’s not an issue for us. wish the hooks weren’t so low so that we could sit on the bench, but it does the job and we love the way it looks! shoe compartments are a little narrow so some shoes need to be at an angle to fit, but they fit nonetheless ). This piece is pretty cute and the size fits my space perfectly. The hooks seem a bit cheap, I can bend the metal with my hands if I really try, but they will certainly work for the intended purpose. My main reason for taking away a star is because all of the visible silver screws. Not a huge deal but this would look so much better if they were painted white or counter sunk with caps.
