we had someone build it for us so i can’t comment on how hard it was to build, but it took him about 3 hours it is two separate pieces that do not connect so keep that in mind, we knew that before purchasing and it’s not an issue for us. wish the hooks weren’t so low so that we could sit on the bench, but it does the job and we love the way it looks! shoe compartments are a little narrow so some shoes need to be at an angle to fit, but they fit nonetheless ). Purchased this while it was on sale for $500 and some. I don’t think it’s worth its original price of over $1k. But for what I paid it’s perfect. My front door has been such a mess since we went from a family of 3 to 5 and this has a lot of storage and hanging space. I also love the hidden storage. This isn’t meant for a lot of shoe storage. My husbands size 13 shoes don’t fit well but sizes smaller fit perfect! I’m going to add some peel and stick wallpaper to some of the back pieces and it will make the perfect addition to my home..
