we had someone build it for us so i can’t comment on how hard it was to build, but it took him about 3 hours it is two separate pieces that do not connect so keep that in mind, we knew that before purchasing and it’s not an issue for us. wish the hooks weren’t so low so that we could sit on the bench, but it does the job and we love the way it looks! shoe compartments are a little narrow so some shoes need to be at an angle to fit, but they fit nonetheless ). I think this hall tree was a good value purchase. It took about 3.5 hours for me and my husband to put together (he assembled the top, while I assembled the bottom). There are a few little spots that have some imperfections (i.e. gaps), but they are barley noticeable. The bench is a reasonable height and seems sturdy and has held up when me or my husband sits on it, with no problem. I love having a drawer.
