The stone came mostly together, we unfortunately did have one of the pieces break before we even opened the box. This stone gives the illusion that the full tile is made of stone, when it is just the front face that is designed to look like stone. Words CANNOT explain how happy I am with this purchase! Worth every penny! So easy to install, cut, and mold/shape! I'm a craftswoman in my spare time! I enjoy making beautiful things and use absolutely gorgeous material. This y'all is the thing!! Not done yet with my fireplace and not sure if I can update my post. However grout is needed to fill the space between tiles. I uploaded some pictures so you can see how beautiful that tile is. It appears more on the red/pinkish tone in the pictures. However, this is NOT the real color! It's my silly camera. I zoomed in to show y'all the real color! Almost identical to real stone and will save you thousands of dollars.
