Used this tile in our basement remodel to go around the bar and the fireplacetv insert. I love the rich blackness and it does have sort of a leather look. The only issue is finding a grout color that is dark enough to get the look as advertised. I used a midnight black and as you can see it still wasnt black enough. Looks more gray against this rich black tile. So Im looking into a grout colorizer that is darker to go over the existing grout. I suggest making your grout lines as thin as possible. As you can see we didnt stagger the tiles as I think lining them up either vertically or horizontally gives it more of an modern look. The installers didn’t mix the grout correctly and it came out blotchy and bleached out in places. I did a grout refresh on it to fix that issue and went darker with the grout, did Mapei grout refresh color black. Wow, looks so much better IMO! Love the Matte finish. The color looks just right with just the right amount of veins looks very expensive. I still need a few more pieces to finish a hallway.
