It's lovely material, but the install was initially pretty (conceptually) tough. Screwed up with the adhesive and had to order another piece of this. The main thing that saved the final install was using a (cordless) nailer, which made it a lot easier. If you don't have one, recommend to borrow one from a friend (hopefully you already have one). If you don't use a nailer, try to find the least obtrusive finish nails / use a precision finish tool (not sure what it is called but it's a little thing you use with a hammer to push the nail heads deeper, but not so that you dent the moulding) to submerge the nail heads. When you paint this, also recommend to start with the little domes and really work around them so paint does not pool. Finish the rest of the paint job with swipes in parallel to the length of the 'board'. I ended up using four coats of paint...it was worth it. Your mileage may vary! It comes ready to install, painting is not required, however, to maintain uniform color we recommend painting with 100% acrylic latex paint. Fasten your PVC with standard PVC cement and stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized nails using common wood­working tools. Because PVC won't absorb water, it's perfect for installing directly to masonry or below ground level (basements), which is not always possible with wood or composite material. Feel good using a green product too, making it both economical and environmentally friendly.

Nickel gap wainscoting offers a clean-line, modern take on shiplap with an interlocking tongue and groove profile so they don’t overlap at all. The tongue fits in the groove, once installed on a surface, the boards have a gap between them, so you don’t get warping that causes shiplap boards to look crooked or uneven.
