Once assembled, the table feels sturdy and stable. The thick frame and pedestal-style base give it a substantial look while still allowing good leg room for chairs. At 86.7 inches long, the size works great for everyday dining and can comfortably seat several people when hosting. The minimalist design also makes it very versatile — it pairs nicely with many different chair styles. I used lighter wood chairs and love the contrast. Beautiful! Very solid, heavy, real mahogany wood. The top is a beautiful solid piece of mahogany with VERY subtle grain. (I had been worried about the top because the pictures online didn’t show the detail and it almost looked plastic.) It has had a very smooth sand so no rough spots or spots where grain could catch cloth. The bottom brass is a great tone, matches my other honey goldantique bronze finished accessories. Really liked the narrower width of this table. It is easy to extend (or close) and the legs move with the expansion so that was a plus for me. Rating 4 stars though because the leg holder welds weren't that great and while putting together one came completely out. Additionally, some pieces were warped/bent.
