The doors can be lifted up from the bottom and tilted out to remove them if needed. I had a hard time finding measurements of the inner storage spaces so here they are: The two cubbies behind the sliding doors each measure 22" wide x 8" tall x 11.5" depth (this measurement is without the adjustable shelf) The open shelf in the middle is 22" wide x 3" tall x 11.5" depth The inside of the drawer is 20.5" wide x 9.5" long x 5.75" tall. Product is nice quality. I was able to put it together by myself, and I'm not one for being handy in anyway. I just wish the instructions had been a little clearer for the back panels. Now, they are in backwards because I didn't realize until it was all together. But the drawers cover the top part, and the back isn't too visible. I ordered 2 chairs for my kitchen. I like that the chairs are made of ash, a hardwood. I expect them to hold up well. The arms and overall style make them very comfortable. One of the chairs will benefit from stain touchups at the joinery point in the back and on the inside of one arm, but these are minor issues.
