Ian Thornton designed the Benthos wall sconce with a starburst pattern on its wall plate that is made of Marquino marble, which has veining running through it and is drawn out. The wall sconce is included in our collection of damp-rated lighting that is designed specifically for bathrooms. Because marble is a natural material, variations in sconces will occur.

I was not blown away by the quality of these sconces...the glass shade appears to have a chip in the corner, the very obvious (supposedly decorative) brass screws are dark and tarnished, not bright brass as in the photos, where the glass meets the back plate there is a very unsightly piece of white tape (I guess to protect the back plate??) The item is made of steel, for the money I would expect solid brass. My client and I plan to return. Very pricey, but money well spent. The one recommendation I would make has to do with the installation process. There is a loose driver mounted by a piece of included double stick tape within the lamp base. It really should be done at the factory so that the installer doesn’t have to do it. For those who believe the phrase floral wall sculpture means a flowery affair, it is true in one sense but not in another, as the contemporary lines and detailing of this product make our version of a flower sculpture a bit of a chameleon.
