Easy to follow instructions. Took maybe an hour to assemble. Sturdy. I didn’t fasten to the wall. The back is open but it has a piece to brace the frame and make it more sturdy. I only added the separator to the one of the doors so. For reference, top pairs are women size 7.5 and kid’s size 1. The bottom is men size 10.5 and 11. It will only fit my husband’s size 13 without the separator and put them in sideways. We will just his shoes underneath. Very pretty. I’m happy I purchased it. Open tube design makes this mat ideal for all floor areas wet or dry such as pools, decks, shower/locker rooms, saunas, and SPAs. It can be used in low to high bare feet traffic areas. However, it may not be good for higher traffic areas where shoes are worn as they would be subject to much more abuse and would wear too quickly. Therefore entryways that may see more than 100 visitors per day should use a different type of matting.
