It’s basically a nice topper for firming up a foam mattress, or adding a hypoallergenic layer overtop something that’s not rated as being very “green”. We first tried this over a firm latex pad, and it did not add much noticeable improvement in thickness or softness. Next, we tried this down pad over a 2 inch thick foam pad, and it made all the difference! I am not at all a fan of foam pads. However, using this topper over the foam pad makes the foam less susceptible to sinking! Love it! This mattress topper is great! I absolutely love that it has straps on all four corners that hold it on top of the bed mattress so that it does not slide. It has held its shape over the course of the past month and provides the bed with extra comfort. It is a bit more on the firmer side, but does get a little softer with more frequent use.
