This is a reproduction of Amos Doolittle's A View of the South Part of Lexington, 1775, Plate 4. Amos enlisted in the Patriot army, and joined the troops at Cambridge, Mass. just ten days after the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Tagging along with him on the ride to Cambridge was his artist friend Ralph Earl. They both visited the battlefields of Lexington and Concord, and sought out eyewitnesses and minutemen who fought the battles. He asked them what happened, where and when, and then he told Earl what to draw. From Earl’s drawings and the eyewitness accounts he gathered, Amos Doolittle engraved four copper plates of the battle. The first print shows the Battle of Lexington, with Maj. Pitcairn at the head of the regular grenadiers. It also shows the party who first fired on the provincials at Lexington, part of the Provincial company of Lexington and the British regular companies on the road to Concord.

The Norton Manx or Manx Norton is a British racing motorcycle that was made from 1947 to 1962 by Norton Motors Ltd. It had contested every Isle of Man TT race from the inaugural 1907 event through into the 1970s, a feat unrivaled by any other manufacturer, and the development and honing of the Manx racing motorcycle was another step in this racing achievement. Our 1952 Norton Manx model is handcrafted of tin. It is painted silver and has a scale of 1:8. It features intricate details such as mesh wheels, 500cc engine, seat, lightweight frame, exhaust, front and side license plate with number 96, fenders, and a brake lever. Bring home and display this iconic British bike from the height of Norton’s dominance of open road-racing in the 1950s. Beautiful and brutal, the Norton Manx is a true motorcycling legend. He commissioned an 800kg-class three-point hydroplane hull to be built by Cantieri Timossi, a hydroplane builder on Lake Como, near Milan… The hull was dubbed Arno XI. For the engine, he turned to the new up and comers of the auto racing scene – Scuderia Ferrari… On the morning of October 15, 1953, Achille Castoldi succeeded in smashing the 800kg class speed record with an average ''flying kilometer'' two-way speed of 150.49 mph. He followed up the performance later that day by setting another record in the ''24 nautical miles'' event with an average speed of 102.34 mph… Arno XI was restored in the early 1990s and was put up for auction at the Coy's Festival at Silverstone in 1997 where it did not sell. It was photographed skimming across the water as recently as September 2004, along with many other vintage racing boats...
