The marble base is heavy, which is great for a freestanding coat tree. Some the screw holes were not pre-drilled large enough, so a small amount of hammering was necessary. Some of the small decorative pieces are very plastic-y, and the shape of the piece at the very top of the tree is odd, but otherwise the tree does what it is supposed to do, has a nice profile, and looks nice..
