Being porcelain, it’s very hard and durable, and perhaps best of all, you can use an orbital sander to remove thinset and grout without damaging the finish—huge time saver! Just one critical thing to know in advance: these are spaced at 4mm, and you’ll have to search hard to find 4mm spacers. 3/16 is too wide, 1/8 is too skinny. On the upside, if things start looking a wee bit out of alignment, you can use those 3/16 and 1/8 spacers (very selectively) to cheat a little, with no discernible impact to aesthetics.. Ryan. These were not hard to install, I watched a video. I really recommend a video, it makes the directions make sense. Getting it level is the hard part. Drilling the screws in was probably the harder part. The shades came the exact size I measured, kudos to the person who cuts them to size. It is actually a pretty solid car port. high ceilings. I do agree with that one reviewer - if only they made the bolts a couple mm longer, it would make set up so much quicker.
