The instructions say it both cleans and shines though it makes sense to thoroughly sweep then clean the floor with mild detergent and water or the Forbo cleaner first. More to the point, while air blows out the top vent, there is very little flow into the two-under vent portals, not very efficient removing smoke and odors. The control and number pad is very difficult to read in normal light. Either the text needs to stand out more, or ideally it would be better if illuminated. This 300-watt pro-series transformer is supplied with a 3' grounded line cord and is epoxy encapsulated with a stainless steel enclosure. Features (12v-15v) multi-tap outputs and circuit breaker protection. A modular timer and photocell are available.
