These chairs are solid. I ordered 4 chairs and all of them arrived in perfect condition. No missing pieces or hardware. Everything was well packed. They don’t feel or look cheap. The directions are very easy to follow and one person can easy assemble them without help. Make sure not to completely tighten all the screws until they are all screwed in. The backs of the chairs are pretty straight. I think I would prefer some accommodation for my back so that I don't have to sit so straight. I do tend to slouch though, so this may not be an issue for you. The top of the seat is shaped in order to make them more comfortable for your rear, which you can see in the third photo. I did buy chair pads to add more cushion because I did find the seats to be a bit hard, but I could see how someone else may not feel it necessary to do so. At first I wrote a great review for this product, however, I'm CHANGING my review! PLEASE READ! This product has cracked and separated in SEVERAL places on the headboard! We have a brand new home. This isn't from the air being "too dry". We are SOOOOO incredibly disappointed! We can't get an exchange or refund. We've only had this bed for 7 months. The cracks started about 3 months ago. We didn't think too much of it and thought it added to the "distressed" look. The cracks have gone far beyond "distressed" and are actually separating. I might add, we are old so this isn't from "romping". This product AND Wayfair receive a 1 star. Spent a LOT of money for a defective piece. Very solid and sturdy bed! It sits rather high so if you have a thick mattress keep that in mind. It turns out we didn't need a box spring, just a bunkie board. We chose the white distressed model. The distressed look was very minimal but it's still a beautiful piece. Delivery took a while but we were feeling excited and impatient to receive our new bed. Very happy with our selection!. Juli.
