The wood looks so much nicer than those plastic ones so I don'tmind keeping it visible. There are several compartments and they are are good sizes for separating different types of items. I can keep all of those junk drawer items organized and easy to find when I need them. I especially love that it has a longer space in the back to fit a notepad or similar sized items.
