I did not purchase this to use as a desk. I needed a corner vanity and did not want to spend a lot of money. This was perfect for the budget and worked out great! The directions were very straightforward and easy to follow with the exception of the final step of placing the top shelving to the bottom base. The two sections in the corner as I show in the picture want to separate. This requires two people. I assembled this by myself and it took several hours. It is a great piece of furniture for a gaming desk or to use as a vanity. The light strip is a straight continuous wire and does not have an L shape to allow for the corner and sticks out. Very large working space and still enough room for my gaming setup. The bf is getting the matching desk for his side of the game room as well. Assembly was not bad at all. Only reason I am giving 3 stars is that there was a defect on the chair edge side of the desk surface all along the edge. It is as if it was not heat treated right and the edge material is rolling off and bubbled across the entire edge. UPDATE Ordered a replacement part and it showed up so fast and it was free.
