I was shocked (though I obviously shouldn't have been) to see that the water and electrical hookups had moved completely, making the install much more complicated for me. On the other hand, the newer leveling procedure is much nicer. Of course, we're still just getting used to it, but I fully expect this new Benchmark version to last at least as long as the old "800" model did, and be just as easy to live with. (Full disclosure, the old one would still be running fine if "someone" hadn't taken a tumble on the open door!) So far, my only quibble (and it's a large one) is that the Delay Start button has been moved to ONLY the app and is no longer on the control panel. At least let it be part of your Favorites settings! It is a very nice piece of equipment, with just a few comments. First, the microwave function is very quiet, a plus. However, the internal vent fan is very loud. More to the point, while air blows out the top vent, there is very little flow into the two-under vent portals, not very efficient removing smoke and odors. The control and number pad is very difficult to read in normal light. Either the text needs to stand out more, or ideally it would be better if illuminated. It produces reverse osmosis water at up to 500 GPD, a pace that allows it to function as a tankless system without affecting functionality. The centerpiece of the system is its dual-flow RO membrane that receives water from both sides of the membrane housing and is fueled by a high powered booster pump. Higher water pressure to the dual-flow membrane results in faster RO production and less drain water being rejected. These factors culminate in the RCS5T achieving an exceptional 1:1 pure to drain water ratio. The RCS5T can be used with water pressure sources as low as 25 psi, and has a built in pressure gauge to provide an accurate pressure reading. A power source is required for the booster pump, and a holding tank can be added to the system for high usage situations. Please Note: The RO membrane capacity is affected by the inlet water pressure and water temperature. 500GPD is the maximum rated production rate, not the recommended daily usage amount.
