Just put it together today (by myself, mind you!), so I can’t speak to the quality long term, but it’s perfect for what I need right now. Took me an about 2 hours to put together - lining up the heavy top was a little bit of a struggle, but i got it after a few adjustments. It’s heavier duty partial board, but the coating on it seems like it’ll hold up well. I left the towel rack off and eventually took the side shelf off, because my room is small and honestly I think it looks better. When the leaf is open, it created more counter top than I thought it would. The back is plain and could use some adhesive drawer/shelf liner, which I might do later. The four included stool seats are upholstered in polyester and filled with foam for just the right amount of support as you sit. Plus, the nailhead trim around the seat adds traditional style.

Overall, I really like this set. The table and stools are sturdy, well-made, and look great once assembled—perfect for a small dining space or kitchen. The only downside was that my package included an outdated set of instructions and incorrectmissing hardware, which made assembly frustrating and prevented me from installing the shelf. That said, customer service was excellent and very responsive in working to resolve the issue, which I really appreciated. I wish for such a heavy and expensive item, Wayfair would offer full service delivery or at least the option to pay for in home delivery and assembly. The island did have one flaw a chip out of the top corner of the table and someone from the factory or warehouse colored it in with marker. It was small but very noticeable.
