The rug is super soft and it is pretty thick. It is very nice. It could be grey or beige—I bought the 9 by 12 so that I can add chairs to my living room eventually. The color and texture are WAY off from the photos. It is shown on the website as being a darker reddish hue with contrasting orange fringe on the ends and subtle lines stitched through it. The lines are non-existent and the color is far more brown with the fringe being the same shade as the rug itself. I am really glad I decided to go with this rug! It works so well in my eat in dining area and coordinates well with my living room rug. It is the perfect pile height for under a dining table. It is not super thick and I don’t plan to use a rug pad since it is in a dining space however I think it would still work beautifully in a living room with a thick rug pad. Perfect neutral rug.. The rug is soft and was the color I was looking for. It was 8’ x 2’6” so it is longer and wider than most standard runners. I had to put rug grips under the rug because it will move without them.
