I left mine off initially because I wanted to make the document organizer accessible from both sides and it was pretty wobbly. Its manufactured wood frame features an oak finish and black plastic molding at the opening of each compartment that acts as a labeling area. Labels are included.

I got the quality I paid for. The cardboard interior was sturdier because of the compressed wood frame. The construction is strengthened by glue-infused dowels activated with water - but be careful to get the pieces oriented correctly as they are hard to reposition! Height is 12.25 inches not 12, so it didn't fit in my 12" bookshelf as planned. The slots are roomy for letter (8.5x11) and craft size (9x12) paper, but not for scrapbook (15x15) paper.
