Love this mailbox! However, be aware that there are issues with the assembly. They provide two long bolts to attach the mailbox support (scrolled piece) the the post. Only one bolt fits easily. The other bolt is too long to fit where it needs to go. We had to cut the bolt to get it in place. The base part had some jagged metal inside that we had to cut off so it would not scratch the post. Wow. For $700, not impressed. Doesn't come with instructions (at all). Also the light they sent is black, so doesn't even match the rustic antique bronze post and mailbox.... the concept was great, but end result for what you paid.. I'm not happy at all. On the directions, how is the best way to mount pole in ground, dig hole? How deep, should you sleeve it or concrete it in? How far down.. things like that. Pretty nice. Not as heavy as I imagined. No installation instructions are included but they are on the website. Just an extra step you shouldn’t have to take. Also, if an Allen wrench was included I might have figured out how the head and base secure to the pole. I was in the hunt for screws. Another step you shouldn’t have to take. Looks really nice. Good quality. The only thing I had to fix and therefore one star removed, was the magnet inside the door of the mailbox was not secured and just swiveled around on it's screw. So the second day I tried to open it, the magnet had rotated around and "locked" the mailbox. It took some swearing and finding the right tool to get it open. I just had the mailbox installed. It is VERY SOLID and heavy. Adds a lot of oopmh and curb appeal. Minus one star because some of the welding wasn't very clean and for the price I paid the seams should be perfect. Also, the screws that screw the mailbox to the base are very long. Mailbox was shipped and arrived in under a week. (It travelled from CA to PA). It arrived in two boxes. One for the post and one for the mailbox plus other pieces. Items were bubble wrapped and it arrived without a single scratch. Putting it together was easy, just 5 pieces in all. I downloaded the PA Postal requirements for mailbox placement and followed those measurements as we placed the mailbox unit out in front of our house. The install was about 4 hours in all for us. Our biggest hang up was pounding the posts in the ground and tying the string around the mailbox post to keep the mailbox completely level as we mixed our Quikcrete and poured it. The locking insert inside Mailbox is made of galvanized steel and features a tough powder coat finish with locking front retrieval door keeping mail secure from unwanted hands. Locking insert incoming mail slot opening: W 6 3/8" x H 1". Locking mail retrieval door opening: H 5" x W 6 3/8" with a set of keys included. Please note the shipment lead time for this Mailbox post system is four to six weeks for personalized address plates to be completed. Personalization options are limited to include address numbers/letters. No miscellaneous characters, words or phrases will be accepted. Ex: 123A.

Standard

The product includes all brackets, hinges, and screws needed to assemble your mailbox and post. The components are pre-drilled and only a Phillips head screwdriver is required for assembly. The post is placed 18-28 inches into the ground and secured with a bag of quick concrete (not included). No wood inserts are required for installation.
