The back cushions are a bit flat, the seat cushions are thick and firm. Did not expect the back part of the sofa to be a piece of metal and light fabric covering it, but for the price I can’t complain. Like sofa, it replaced a large, bulky sofa that blocked too much window & my legs didn't touch the floor when sitting on it. This new sofa is perfect for my space. Easy to put together with understandable instructions. I will say this sofa is not ideal for tall people over 6 ft. since it sits low.
