This lamp turned out perfect for what I needed. I liked that the lampshade was whiter than it looked onscreen, and it was easy to put together. It definitely has a nice weight to it, thanks to the marble insert on the base. Overall, I think its a little overpriced... its a dupe of a high end look, but I don't think it needs to be this price as a dupe. As with a lot of 'brass' items, its a brushed on effect and on close inspection it doesn't look as good a real brass. Its fine for the purpose and it suits my dining chairs which have the same effect. I didn't love that it went on sale after I ordered but before it was delivered....grrrr! it arrives in two boxes - one with the base and the shade, and the other with the arc pole. also comes with a bulb and has a dimmer. Antique style floor lamp shade is sturdily made of 100% real stained glass. Stained glass is handcrafted using the same technique that was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Glass types and colors are designed using metallic salts during manufacturing. Each piece of real glass is hand-cut, and copper foil is wrapped around each piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion. The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.
