A simple high/low rotary switch is located on the shade cup to adjust the brightness. This lamp has a black cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulbs are not included. Note: use incandescent bulbs up to 150w or dimmable led bulbs (do not use: 3-way bulbs or CFLs. We recommend using incandescent bulbs for best results achieving both settings of 50% brightness and 100% brightness with no flicker. When using led bulbs, it is common to see some flicker on the low setting (the high setting will always have no flicker). A dimmable led will minimize the low-setting flicker, but may still occur.

This lamp is beautiful, but was EXTREMELY difficult to put together. The holes in the marble base did not line up with the screws. Luckily, I’m married to a handy engineer and he reworked it somehow.
