UPDATE..... Wayfair made good on the problem that I had with my floor lamp and sent me a replacement lamp pole/base. I have only owned it for less than a month and I went to move it today from my living room and into my dining room. As soon as I picked it up by the column with two hands, the base broke completely off of the column. It's like the once assembled you cannot lift it as the top 3/4 of the column is heavier than the base causing it to separate. I am devastated as I just love this lamp. I was dreading opening this after I saw the small-medium box it came in. The tall wood portion came in three sections. Each section screwed into the other, the line where they connect is not visible. The base is nice and heavy, when you screw the base on, it all looks like one seamless piece. This is a matte finish, very handsome. Not a shiny polyurethane look.
