The pedestal is beautiful. But it's small. You can't fit a standard size laundry detergent bottle in it... The laundry hamper is a cool idea, but, nothing else fits in the drawer... So you only can keep an empty laundry hamper in the drawer?? Also mine shipped without an instruction manual (there isn't one online), no screws, and no clips. We added the WD405CS as the sidekick washer under our main unit washer, and it has been more useful than I expected. So far I have been using it to wash my husband’s caps and smaller loads that I do not want mixing in with everything else. It has been perfect for that. I like that I can run it at the same time as the main washer. It saves time, especially during busy weeks. The caps come out clean and still keep their shape, which was always a concern before. I have also tossed in delicates and everything has come out fresh. It is simple to use and feels sturdy. I honestly did not think we needed it at first, but now I am glad we have it. It just arrived yesterday. The manual could be more specific on options. I used the Bedding/Waterproof option as I was washing bedding, however, nothing waterproof. I do not plan on using that option again and the tub fills to the top and the laundry barely moves even though they only filled the tub 1/2 way before starting the cycle. It took 2 hours to complete. The Normal wash cycle works well. The manual could be more specific in that you DO have an option to change the water temp from the default "warm" to cold by touching the word "cold" while turned on the Normal cycle. It's my 1first impeller washer and I need more time to give a genuine opinion. Modern appliances take a bit more research before making choices on the type of load you will be doing.. Kathy.
