Suggest mounting it into a stud or installing blocking in the wall behind if possible because it sticks out far enough that a kid pulling on it or an adult using it to brace themselves could lead to major drywall damage.. I wanted something with a unique look, that was high quality, and not expensive. I am happy to report I did not have to compromise! The Venetian bronze is so pretty (see drain for color texture).
