Arrived quickly and in good shape. Unfortunately, there is a frost warning tonight in SE Wisconsin so it’s a bit too cold to go outside and put this up! (May 7th! Crazy weather!) Even though I need to wait to put this up outside, I can already tell I am going to love it. The casing is sleek and clean looking, and the bracket where it will attach to the fence is metal and substantial. The hook that came with to attach the line to when pulled out and ready to use is also substantial, although just a bit utilitarian. I may purchase a nice white coated hook that will match the house trim where I will be installing it. Overall, for the price, I think this is going to be a great addition to the summer laundry drying AND for hanging swim towels when done in the lake. I purchased this item to actually install in my kitchen to hang plastic green vegetable bags to dry after I wash them to re-use. I can see how this item might not be strong enough for heavy wet clothing items but for my intent it is perfect and I think it would work fine for small garments if you figure out how to tighten the line. Overall this is a very cool gizmo and exactly what I needed. I do have some input on installing the decorative plate cover for the connection end. At first I thought the set screw was missing. The directions shows it as if the cover should come already attached to connector plate but mine was not. Then, I found the set screw tightened way inside the connector end piece. I took it out assuming that I would need to place the plate cover on first (like most set screws work in the USA anyway) but the set screw does not fit into the cover plate this way (see photo). After some thought my partner figured out that the set screw will hold the cover on if it presses on it from the inside. So we inserted the screw back into the connector plate, placed the decorative cover over it and then unwound the set screw until it held the plate in place by friction. Yay! this works well. Galvanized Steel T-Post has a one-piece, 2-inch diameter center post! This makes the tall center pole stronger and stops the pole from twisting and turning. The 32-inch wide crossbar attaches to the top of the pole and includes eyelet screws to anchor up to 7 lines of clothesline (clothesline sold separately). The galvanized steel is rust-resistant, unlike untreated steel posts. This helps your setup last longer--important since you are concreting it into the ground! Once installed, the top of the 90-inch t-post will be approx. 6.5 feet tall (or lower if installed deeper in the ground). This clothesline pole includes pole endcaps and all hardware necessary to set up a single post (additional posts are sold separately; typically 2 posts are required to set up a clothesline). So hang loads and loads of laundry, one after another or all at once! This fellow can handle it. So you get sun-kissed laundry, a lower electric bill, and an easier time hanging up the laundry. Win.
