The velvet is the wrong direction I believe, the grain should be in the direction of sitting to sliding off the chair to stand, and the grain is opposed so you are sliding off against the grain. I do have to say that I had to open them outside in the backyard due to the off gassing. And I let them remain outside in the wind for 2 days before I bring them in the house.
