I was able to attach them to our wysteria vine using clothespins, to drape them across our garage, on the patio side. The on-off switch was perfect, and I just had to turn on the switch, once it was dark. They provided extra lighting, as well as a festive atmosphere, and looked very cute hanging above our garage door, in the vine. Paired them with other solar-powered lights both on the ground, as well as fairy string lights in our bushes. The bright pink added a great touch of color. I definitely would recommend these - they are fun and add a creative touch to your decorating. The lantern size globe is nice in the large size. I got this idea from the lanterns at the Biltmore Estate in Ashville. However, I find it to be quite time consuming to have to put the lanterns upright every single day.
