All the weight is taken by two small discs screws tot he side walls, and you will need to glue these as well as screw them otherwise they spin when you try to screw the adjoining pieces to them. So far, so good! The door has been installed, but the rest of the bathroom/house is still undergoing renovations so we haven't actually used the shower but it looks great.
