For the past few months, I've known it was time to replace the dim, buzzing fluorescent light in my kitchen with its constant flickering and failure to power on 98% of the time; I just did not know what I was going to get to replace it until I saw Lithonia Lighting's gorgeous rounded edge fluorescent light. The fluorescent lamp is clear, bright and cool to the touch and since it does not use as much energy as a traditional incandescent light bulb, it is providing this single mom and teacher with 25% - 35% energy savings. It is also long lasting - 10,000 hours+ - compared to a traditional incandescent bulb 800 to 1,500 hours. My only complaint is that fluorescent lighting includes a small amount of mercury liquid inside of it, which is converted into a mercury vapor when the lamp is turned on and can impose a small threat of mercury exposure to my family.. This light is easy to install and gives off great light. The light base is larger than a standard ceiling outlet box to cover any imperfections in the sheetrock. I have posted a “before” photo. “After” photo coming! We bought these lights to replace our old, outdated, mismatched track lighting (shown in photo). Because they are going on a second floor ceiling, which is vaulted and might be 24 feet high. We have to have our electricians come out to install these. Otherwise it would be very easy for my husband to install these if it was only on a regular height ceiling. We really love the look of these. They will be much more modern sleek and design and all matching. We purchased the white set and I think it’s going to really enhance our living room. I love the fact that you can position them to Spotlight art or other things on the wall or plants we love the fact that they’re LEDs so we never have to change a lightbulb after photo coming soon..
