For the past few months, I've known it was time to replace the dim, buzzing fluorescent light in my kitchen with its constant flickering and failure to power on 98% of the time; I just did not know what I was going to get to replace it until I saw Lithonia Lighting's gorgeous rounded edge fluorescent light. The fluorescent lamp is clear, bright and cool to the touch and since it does not use as much energy as a traditional incandescent light bulb, it is providing this single mom and teacher with 25% - 35% energy savings. It is also long lasting - 10,000 hours+ - compared to a traditional incandescent bulb 800 to 1,500 hours. My only complaint is that fluorescent lighting includes a small amount of mercury liquid inside of it, which is converted into a mercury vapor when the lamp is turned on and can impose a small threat of mercury exposure to my family.. We ordered these recessed lights for a new construction home, and overall, we are pleased with them. They are completely flat with the ceiling, making them look sleek and modern. There is a bunch I like about this light. Firstly, the light cast is adjustable- you can focus it or spread it.
