I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. The surface pattern (which is comprised of wide ridges and valleys) is more prone to trapping and cleaning debris and liquids from heavy foot traffic while maximizing the ease of cleaning and comfort. Wide Rib Corrugated Rubber is designed for light to medium foot traffic where traction and increased safety are needed and performs especially well in transient or temporary applications (e.g. wet aisle ways, catered parties, temporary walkways, etc...). The fabric base finish adds subsurface traction, keeping the runner's bottom surface secure to the floor. Since this product is made from virgin SBR it creates a completely watertight surface, offers moderate chemical resistance, and can be cleaned with most common household cleaners.
