This is an awesome light! Just what I was looking for, with a small footprint and a lot of light; I needed a lot more light in my sewing room, and this provides lots of bright light. As others have mentioned, this takes max. 60w bulbs, but is BLINDING. 40w is perfect. Comes assembled. One star off as it arrived with a chip in the finish, but I touched it up with silver metallic paint and although it isn't a perfect match, it's not visible once fitted, especially with the light on.
