Great purchase for keeping the yard organized. Assembly was super simple- parts of the box frame just snap together to make the base/ frame, and you really only need to screw in the reinforcements, hinges and hardware. It took a little balancing/rearranging to get the bottom + four sides all attached at once but was able to do with just one person. Comes with metal supports for the long sides & top, so its sturdy enough, but just know that the sides are more flexible than sturdy. Hydraulic hinges were a beeze to install. For the price point, its a good buy and it should last a few seasons. It seems to be waterproof-ish by default - the top lays flat on the box body but it does not have any kind of overlap or fitted close mechanism that would keep out water, other than being a flat lid on top of a rectangle.. We bought this deck box for package delivery, to sit near our garage to receive packages and keep them safe from rain and snow. I like that it has gas lift assist hinges, which keep the lid open. My hope and intention is that it makes it easier for the delivery person, whose hands may be full, to open and use the box. Once you lift the lid part way, the gas hinges open it the rest of the way and hold it open while the delivery person loads the packages into it. Closing it, the hinges make it a "soft close", and then hold the lid shut. The box itself is fairly light weight, flimsy even, but I was shopping on a budget and this seemed the best product for the money. The assembly directions were clear enough, but the bottom piece did not snap together well like it should have, and I had to hammer it in place, use a screwdriver to wedge the tabs together, and even use a utility knife to trim some plastic to make it go together. I built a platform next to my driveway and garage for the box to have somewhere level to sit, but the lid would not close straight. I had to wedge up one corner, so the box no longer sits exactly level, but now can close correctly. It's cheap plastic construction, and build tolerances are not perfect, but after some fiddling it works just fine. Overall I am happy with my purchase, and yes I would recommend this product. Sturdy, nice looking and roomy. Warm mid-tone gray color. We use it to store large 6-person dining set cover, citronella candles, tiki torches, torch fuel supply, various cushions from other chairs and seating on our large deck, etc. Also keep 18V leaf blower in it for quick deck blow-offs. Stays dry inside. Assembly isn't difficult, but will take a half hour or so by yourself. It'd be easier and faster with an extra set of hands. Only disappointment so far is that the large front and back panels, which are designed to "fit and click" into the bottom panel, don't seem to stay clicked in very well due to the long span of those panels with little support except at the corners which are supported by the end panels. So the corners stay connected okay, but the centers of the front and back panels bow out a bit because the click-in connection isn't quite strong enough alone. A couple of plastic, deck box color-matched fasteners along the bottom (in the center) on both the front and back panels through to the inside bottom panel would secure things perfectly. Time will tell how this guy holds up! Assembly was a little bit of a pain, do note that you have to take tons of screws OUT upon unpacking. I though I had missing pieces. The shipping box makes it almost impossible to repack once you unpack it, so make sure you want it! Some of the panels were bent, but upon installing I realized it didn't matter, the frame aligns them and it's virtually unnoticeable. Other than that, the item feels really well made and sturdy once all together. It isn't meant to be water proof, only water resistant. It's very nice looking, and the light color is beautiful.
