As other reviewers have stated, this is a very heavy and solid table. Thankful our delivery guys brought this right to the front door. It took my husband and I to bring it in, but we didn't have a problem putting it together. The color is is white with light gray and dark gray brushstrokes on it. It was a little more gray than I thought it would be, but it paired really well with the Atrakchi Teak Patio Dining Chairs and Kiley Wingback Arm Chairs we purchased. The wood is very smooth textured and so far we haven't had any issues. Also, we haven't put in the insert yet, so I can't speak to how difficult or easy that will be. I love this desk! To simplify our golden years we purchased a 2100 sf home. For the office I ordered this desk in Brown (47.23” width) and it fits perfectly. It is well made, the trim and color variation are lovely. Very simple to assemble for two people by attaching the legs to desk. Everything was securely wrapped and padded when boxed for shipment. I no longer need a deep file drawer, as I don’t keep tons of files these days. (I use a portable file box tote that is easily accessible and ready to transport during an emergency).
