The ceramic disc cartridge is the heart of the faucet, controlling its temperature and water flow. Internally, two opposing discs made out of ceramic carbide rotate to control the flow of water. I should have consulted my contractor prior to buying this, because another piece is needed to work with this three-way diverter valve. It would’ve been helpful to have notes on the description, indicating another piece was needed.
