This was packaged well and all the parts were there with the instructions and a white glove. Due to unfortunate events, we were not able to install this light fixture as of yet but plan to in the next few weeks at which point I will update my review accordingly to be more helpful. I think we will end up painting the wooden piece black because the brown color of the wood is a very strange and odd fake looking color (this is made of real wood) and does not match our oak wood we have in the dining room as I had hoped. I already purchased light bulbs and hoping with the bottoms of the lanterns being opened, the light does shine down nice and bright onto the table. UPDATE: We painted this black and hung it up, the instructions were clear but the screws were not long enough and fortunately we had some on hand that would work. This fixture is heavy and solid, and I like this fixture much better black as the brown color and metal on the sides was an odd color (not red or brown - like in between orange color). The light bulbs you have to buy and we got the ones based on instructions (Edison bulbs) and they are nice and bright. Light up the room and table underneath (which was important to me). Very pleased with the results of these lights. Adjustable and easy to install. Must be assembled but was very easy to assemble and we were able to assemble install 5 lights in couple hours. The bulbs are 40 watts and provide plenty of light for the area, approximately a 2500 sq foot barn. We also have small ceiling lights over the stalls but the amount of light these new ones provide would very easily be enough.
