I picked these stone veneers as they were neutral colored. I went back and painted a light white over the veneers and sponged the paint in. Added a wood frame and indirect lighting. Love the wall and am so happy with the overall look. I ordered 16 veneers in all so four packages. I laid them all out on the floor first to get a pattern that flowed. The veneers don’t all lay flat so I used a wood frame behind them and attached them to the frame with Brad nails. Easy to attach to frame and with the nails and you can pull them off and adjust if need be. Very easy to work with. I even had to cut 5” off the bottom row and super easy to cut with jigsaw. Used this tile in our basement remodel to go around the bar and the fireplacetv insert. I love the rich blackness and it does have sort of a leather look. The only issue is finding a grout color that is dark enough to get the look as advertised. I used a midnight black and as you can see it still wasnt black enough. Looks more gray against this rich black tile. So Im looking into a grout colorizer that is darker to go over the existing grout. I suggest making your grout lines as thin as possible. As you can see we didnt stagger the tiles as I think lining them up either vertically or horizontally gives it more of an modern look. The deliver came quick and i suggest getting more than you need just in case. Overall Im happy, but will be happier once I color over the grout lines.. Lisa. IL. Sun Dec 14 2025
