It is quite heavy, being 15” thick. It is extremely comfortable, with the perfect amount of plushness and firmness. We had another name brand mattress for a few years, but it just did not give us the support and comfort we were looking for. We found this Stearns & Foster after trying many mattresses. We have had it for about 40 nights now and we both sleep better and wake refreshed. While the top is soft and plush to the touch, when we lay one it that soft layer turns to support the curves in your body while the underlying firmness of the mattress supports the whole body. It was time to replace my 2012 queen W Bed pillow top mattress (made by Beautyrest). Tried the Black hybrid cushion top (the W replacement) but it was much taller (13" v 14.5") which I did not like for my platform bed frame. Switched to the World Class non-pillow hybrid (13"), though I really liked that cushion top and I normally find foam beds too hot so was uncertain. I admit the first couple nights I wasn't sold but by night 3 I was sleeping like a baby again and wasn't hot. Because the mattress is 1/3 foam, it is heavier than my old mattress.. David89.
