We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. This hood range fan seems very durable and I like the fact that you don’t have to wire it in if that’s not an ideal option for you. I am having someone do that for me but I wanted to test that it worked before paying them to come to my house. Everything turned on and it looks like it will run great. This mirror was a great find! We used it in a half bathroom on our main floor and really liked the LED light, which brightened up the reflection in the mirror. It looks trendy and it was a great size for the half bathroom. The one thing that I wish I had considered first is that the electric chord to turn it on is in the center of the back of the mirror. If you don't want a chord hanging out fom the mirror you need a socket on the wall behind the mirror, which most bathrooms don't have for a mirror hanging directly above a sink. We are going to pay an electrician to put one in that space. The mirror itself is fantastic but plan for how you'll plug it up and keep a nice asthetic better than we did.. Latesha.
