This product imparts a greater gloss than Marmoleum has out of the box. I'd call it satin. We like the shine. Since it is a Forbo product it should be the most compatible treatment available. The instructions say it both cleans and shines though it makes sense to thoroughly sweep then clean the floor with mild detergent and water or the Forbo cleaner first. Purchased this as a Fathers Dayhousewarming gift for my boyfriend. The box was a bit beat up when it arrived. About a week later when he opened it I noticed the back was bent up. We plugged it in and it works. Just disappointing the back is all beat up especially when you are spending good money on the products. I believe this happened in transport and not Wayfair fault..
